U.S. Tax Court
Tax Court
The United States Tax Court provides you with the opportunity to challenge the IRS’s determination over your various tax matters. The Court enables taxpayers to seek a Court review of the IRS’s stance and to hear your argument against it. If your argument is good enough, the IRS will often settle with you, so filing a Petition with the U.S. Tax Court is an option D’Arco Tax Resolution can use to resolve your tax controversy. Some of the cases the U.S. Tax Court can hear include the following:
- Tax disputes concerning Notices of Deficiency where the IRS says you owe.
- Review of certain Collection Actions.
- Relief from joint and several liability on a joint return.
Many States also provide a Tax Court or Tribunal for State tax issues. They vary from State to State, so whether your State tax issues can be heard by a Court or similar Tribunal depends upon the State and your particular tax matters. Contact D’Arco Tax Resolution for more information
